Giving a Voice to the Vulnerable
On the occasion of the conclusion of the first job training course for gardeners and green maintenance workers, aimed at people in vulnerable conditions, the Vatican media review the progress of the Borgo Laudato Si’ project, undertaken by the Centro di Alta Formazione Laudato Si’.
An interview with Fr. Fabio Baggio, General Director of the Centro di Alta Formazione Laudato Si’, published in Osservatore Romano and Vatican News, highlights the three main principles underlying the entire project initiated by Pope Francis in the Gardens of the Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo: integral ecology education, circular and generative economy, and environmental sustainability.
Rebirth, gratitude, and trust in the future are the sentiments that emerge from the emotional and sometimes uncertain stories of the protagonists featured in the “Storia Laudato Si” series. As explained by the master gardeners who led the training both in the classroom and in the field, carried out in collaboration with Percorsi di Cittadinanza: plants teach that attentive and daily care is, above all, an antidote to the throwaway culture from which Pope Francis tirelessly warns us.
