In order to take care of the Earth, it is necessary to regain the meaning of the word “reconciliation”, its richness, beauty, and scope of newness and hope. Reconciliation is a journey to be undertaken together, rediscovering the humility of considering oneself a “creature together with others”, where the slowest one sets the pace, where the breath-taking climb brings us to the summit of the encounter. The path of reconciliation produces the necessary change for the good of the world, leads to the healing of the wounds of the earth, and becomes a balm soothing the pain of others (LS 66).
