“… By loving our brothers and sisters, we reflect, like mirrors, the Father’s love […] loving Him, whom we do not see, through the people we see” (Pope Francis). Proximity to the other person, to everyone else, including all the creatures around us, fulfills our human dignity. In this new way of relating to the world, there is no need to ask ourselves whether the other creature is a person, an animal or a plant. Everything is God’s gift and only requires gestures of love and respect urging us to “live” with each other in an empathy reflecting the same love that God has for us (LS 66).
