Integral Ecology

Many people refer to ecology as an urgent call to save our planet. Pope Francis speaks of an integral ecology placing the human family at the center of the plan, both as a guardian or the one “to be safeguarded”. Human beings are part of the environment and ecosystem, and in it they carry out unavoidable responsibilities. That is why «Integral ecology is inseparable from the notion of the common good, a central and unifying principle in social ethics» (LS 156).
