Harmony represents the primordial vocation of all creation, the perfect order by which the Creator molds his creatures in Eden, as is described in the first chapter of Genesis. However, harmony was shattered because of the selfishness and pride of human beings. Therefore, the entire history of humanity has always been geared towards recovering the right order of things, in full accordance with the Creator’s will. We are all called to restore “a serene harmony with creation” (LS 225), caring for and saving, safeguarding and helping to grow, contemplating and adoring God’s presence in creation.
