Future usually entices us, especially because of its aura of mystery. However, today the future worries us, with its many threatening clouds appearing on the horizon. But in reality, the future builds itself already in the present, and threats need to be addressed together. «We need a discussion that includes everyone, because the environmental challenge we are undergoing, and its human roots, concern and affect us all» (LS 14). We must commit ourselves to fostering awareness about our common origin, our mutual belonging, and the future of our common home and our common family.
