The perfection of the smallest flower, or of the biggest tree, is not an end in itself, but it is essential to many other creatures, like mushrooms, insects, human beings that use it for their own livelihood. And, at the same time, the delicate corolla needs all the other living beings and more, like water, wind, and sun, in order to achieve its beauty for the benefit of other creatures, thus offering a silent but powerful prayer to the One who has created it (LS 86).
